Light + Building unveils Design Plus Award Winners across key categories
At Light + Building 2026, 13 companies were honoured with the prestigious Designplus Award for innovative products across five categories.”
On the first day of the Light + Building expo at Design Plaza, 13 winners were honoured with the prestigious Designplus Award, recognising outstanding innovations and forward-looking designs centre stage.
Taking sustainability, innovative strength, and functional and design quality as the key evaluation criteria, the independent jury thoughtfully came up with 13 outstanding winners from a total of 91 submissions. The jury comprised renowned industry specialists: Prof Amandus Samsøe Sattler (ensømble Studio Architektur, President of DGNB e.V.), Andreas Habermehl (Managing Director of Technology and Vocational Training, ZVEH – Central Association of German electricians), Annika Egloff-Schoenen (Managing Director, Fachverlag Dr H. Arnold GmbH), Ulrike Brandi (Managing Director, Ulrike Brandi Licht), Franziska von Schumann (Publisher and Member of the Executive Board, Stylepark AG), Robert Volhard (Founder, Publisher and Member of the Executive Board, Stylepark AG) and Anna Moldenhauer (Editor-in-Chief, Stylepark Magazine and Platform for Architecture and Design).
Exhibitors were able to submit their entries in five categories: Sustainability & Future Energy +; Smart & Connected Solutions +; Lighting Design & Atmosphere +; User Experience & Integration + and Sustainable Exhibition Stand +
In the “Sustainability & Future Energy +” category, the winners were esave AG, Grundfos GmbH, Hager Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, MENNEKES Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. The winners of the category “Smart & Connected Solutions +” category were KG, Lightholm/Pedrobeat Lighting Company and XAL. ABB, Basalte and Georg Bechter Licht. Dexter Lighting and Nordlux A/S was honoured in the “Lighting Design & Atmosphere” category. In the “User Experience & Integration +” category, Albrecht Jung GmbH & Co. KG received the award. Zumtobel received the award in the “Sustainable Exhibition Stand +” category for the sustainable design of its exhibition stand. The Designplus Award by Light + Building, presented in cooperation with Stylepark, recognises products that combine innovation, design quality, functionality and sustainability.
At Light + Building, the award-winning products will be displayed on the exhibition grounds in the foyer of Hall 5.1/6.1 and in Hall 9.0 D74 via digital info hubs.
