Three decades of lighting innovation

As India’s premier platform for LED and smart lighting, LED Expo New Delhi 2025 celebrates 30 years of illuminating ideas that power the nation’s future.

The 30th edition of LED Expo New Delhi 2025, reaffirming its position as India’s largest trade exhibition for LED and smart lighting technology, will take place from November 27 to 29, 2025, at Yashobhoomi (IICC) in New Delhi. This illumination extravaganza will feature over 250 exhibitors, including 75 first-time attendees. In addition, the three-day expo will feature over 6,000 goods and 2,000 brands.

Participating firms will showcase cutting-edge innovations in LED products, components, and applications that are speeding the country’s transition to sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure. The 14,000-sq.m expo will bring together industry experts, architects, interior designers, real estate developers, lighting and design consultants, and others to discover, source, and participate in quality debates about lighting advances.

Furthermore, lighting in India accounts for approximately 15% of total national electricity consumption. According to Mordor Intelligence, the Indian LED lighting industry is expected to be worth USD 11.56 billion in 2025 and reach USD 16.63 billion in 2030. LED lighting is no longer merely an area of interest for private sector; the government is also supportive of this development. In September 2025, the government reopened the application window for the PLI plan for white products, which includes air conditioners and LED lights. This extension, part of the fourth cycle, responds to substantial industry interest and aims to increase domestic production and component localisation. It allows manufacturers more time to join and benefit from incentives aimed to increase domestic output.

LED Expo’s legacy shines brighter year after year, with exhibitors displaying innovative solutions fashioned by their extensive industry knowledge. Many of these exhibitors have expanded with the exhibition, making substantial contributions to government and commercial projects that are boosting India’s lighting quotient. Some prominent projects include the recent Kumbh Mela, the World Trade Centre in Delhi, highways, and street lighting. This expansion is reflected in the increased demand for LEDs in construction and real estate, which ranges from landscape and façade beautification to ambient lighting in retail locations. Furthermore, rising infrastructure projects including highways, airports, malls, commercial complexes, and even underwater installations are opening up new opportunities for LED adoption.

LED Expo New Delhi 2025, with strong support from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), will feature a special MSME Pavilion displaying 40+ Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) presenting their latest lighting technologies and innovations. This is the Ministry’s third straight support for the industry, demonstrating its commitment to promoting indigenous growth. The robust participation underlines India’s MSME sector’s enormous potential to develop into new categories, drive self-reliance, and boost the country’s position on the global map.

Raj Manek, Executive Director & Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, emphasised that the LED lighting is shifting gears, and commented, “The LED lighting industry in India has demonstrated a very positive trend over the years with rising application areas. The expo houses an opportunity for industry to build strong connections, learn about how homegrown innovators are responding to the challenges and are diversifying successfully to grow and develop solutions domestically. Even the government is backing the industry with its schemes, such as the PLI scheme for white goods. The time is ripe for the LED lighting industry as the expo has experienced growth in decorative lighting, smart lighting, solar lights and electrical products. LED lighting has evolved from simple illumination to defining the ambience and aesthetics of modern spaces.”

The show was a testament to worldwide participation and interest in the rapidly increasing Indian market. The 30th edition will feature brands from China, the UAE, Germany, Hong Kong, and South Korea. They will showcase over 60 new items together, emphasising the importance of lighting in increasing visibility, building identity, and providing spatial experience.

At LED Expo New Delhi 2025, this information session will explain how architectural façades are increasingly becoming dynamic canvases that evolve with light innovation. Experts will look at how façade lighting is influencing brand experience, upgrading metropolitan skylines, and setting new standards in visual design. Attendees will learn how design thinking, materials, and sophisticated controls work together to create façades that tell tales, from daytime subtlety to nighttime brilliance.

This year’s expo will cover a wide range of topics, including solar lighting for sustainability, façade lighting as an emerging narrative in architecture and design, and a human-centric lighting solutions approach that is in sync with the body’s natural rhythm and surroundings. This edition commemorates a historic milestone: three decades of a successful expo that has considerably aided the industry’s growth and development.
