Designplus Award 2026 Jury concludes selection process

“The Designplus Award by Light + Building has named 13 winners, to be honoured at the expo.”

The renowned expert jury of the Designplus Award by Light + Building has selected 13 outstanding design achievements as award winners. The official award ceremony will take place on the first day of Light + Building, 8 March 2026 at 1:00 p.m., at the Design Plaza in Hall 3.1. Additionally, the award-winning products will be displayed on the exhibition grounds in the foyer of Hall 5.1/6.1 and in Hall 9.0 D74 via digital info hubs.

Taking sustainability, innovative strength, and functional and design quality as the key evaluation criteria, the independent jury has thoughtfully come up with 13 outstanding winners from a total of 91 submissions. The expert panel comprised renowned industry figures: Amandus Samsøe Sattler, President of DGNB e.V. and Founder of ensømble Studio Architektur; Andreas Habermehl, Managing Director of Technology and Vocational Training at ZVEH – Central Association of German Electricians; Annika Egloff-Schoenen, Managing Director of Fachverlag Dr. H. Arnold GmbH; Ulrike Brandi, Managing Director of Ulrike Brandi Licht; Franziska von Schumann, Publisher and Member of the Executive Board at Stylepark AG; Robert Volhard, Founder, Publisher and Member of the Executive Board at Stylepark AG; and Anna Moldenhauer, Editor-in-Chief of Stylepark Magazine and Platform for Architecture and Design.

Describing the quality and range of the submissions as “Timely, diverse and exciting,” Ulrike Brandi noted that the entries reflected the whole gamut of topics covered at Light + Building—spanning technical luminaires and lighting components to smart building technologies and innovative security solutions—while their international breadth underscored the global relevance of the award.

“What makes Light + Building special is that we meet the people behind their luminous products. Within just a few days, we gain a comprehensive overview of the entire product world – hands-on and ready to explore.”, said Amandus Samsøe Sattler, looking forward to the upcoming trade fair.
